J Taylor Antiques was founded in London, England, in 1979.

Working initially as restorers, the company expanded to buying period furniture at provincial estate auctions and selling to the London wholesale market.

In 2003, the company relocated to Canada and opened its store on Locke Street, Hamilton. We still, however, source nearly all our stock from the same English auction houses and certain Home Counties dealers.
